YEAH~MON!!!~ PARTEE ~ Moments....

Well, here goes the Fun!

The Setting.....



While the Jamaican  music played, a Texas breeze "KINDA" cooled us_we feasted on Jerk Chicken Sliders w/ Bacon, Sweet Potato Fries, Pineapple Cold Slaw, Garden Salad, Pasta Salad,Dips & Chips,etc+++ a taste Test between Cupcake Prosecco v Candoni Wines Prosecco & Green Truck Organic Petite Sirah(YES)_Btw,NO CAN do the libation of Jamaica Rum Thingie..... AND.....drumroll....Southern Peach Cobbler w/ Blue Bell Ice Cream!!!!! WOW!

There were two_ "Controversial  Items", one was actually a condiment & the other "The Rasta Mama Jammers"...part of the place setting, CREATIVITY AT IT'S BEST_okay!


Seems, One_Professor Phardtpounders (pronounced as in the PHARD sounds like F- as in ?artpounders)_ decided at some point in his career to make a "Colon Cleaner Hot Sauce"...an Elixir of Capsaicin "EXTREMUS" which is an excellent creation of a Caribbean mustard hot sauce. It delivers heat and an unforgettable island flavor to your meals, to say nothing of the laughs and chuckles it will bring when you put a bottle on your table. Imported from Barbados. "Headed To Jamaica Mon~It's My Birthday!

YES,MON...Celebrating My birthday Today!! Big Time Party this weekend....given by my girlfriends_"A Caribbean (Jamaican)Birthday Party! You could travel all over the Caribbean_But Jamaica is "The Caribbean"!

I shall be Channeling My Main Mon, BOB MARLEY in style!
We will be eatin' Jerk, drinkin' the Wine, sitting around the pool listening to the Music ...



Gonna Party on Sunday_May 19th and be back at the same friend's home for  a"Black Tie "Event (next day). It is a Red Carpet Event with PapaChicken-Razee_the Grand Opening of "Le Coop De Ville"_her Chicken House & Chicks! The Chicks are Registered at the local Feed Store for Earth worms & June Bugs! Now_ this will be a "FIRST" for me. She's thinking of making it an Annual Event similar to each May_"The Kentucky Derby"...dang need to find a Chicken Feather Hat for the affair! Check out the Chicken House....tooo cute!
BTW,she said she DID NOT invite Kim Kardashian...woo-hoo!

Happy,Happy Birthday ~Dr.Wayne Dyer~


Now this makes me smile!!!!Seems like many years ago, I was introduced to Dr. Wayne Dyer's work via Books, Cassettes and VHS (remember those?)..lol. While perusing my Facebook account_ a news feed from his page came up. He's celebrating a birthday today_73 years young!


This reminded me of the "FIRST" time I met him. That was on September 11,1993 at the Dallas, Texas Music Hall. At the time I was a Hospital Sales Rep. So a couple co-workers and I attended to see what he was all about. I was AMAZED...it was so much more than I expected. Afterwards, I was determined to meet him after reading that his birthday was May 10th...see I'm a May Baby as well. Finally, I got the chance to get his autograph and visit with him_ mentioning that my birthday was May 17th_his May 10th_both Taurus. His response_ "Wow! You can smell the BS in here"!! Everyone around laughed so hard about his sense of humor.

I became a " Dr. Wayne Dyer Follower". I read all his books, listened to everything on tape and watched his work over & over & over! Somewhere along the way, I emailed him that I wanted to write a book one day. He put me in touch with his Literary Agent in Ft.Lauderdale,Fla.(we still send Christmas cards to each other)...he lived there at the time.I in return sent his wife some on my Specialty Tea_"Texas Breakfast" from my Tea company_"Let's Talk Tea". It got to be a regular gift I'd send.

Then,he returned to Dallas to Speak at the Unity Church around 1996. His then secretary informed me _so here's a photo opt for that "Moment in Time"...

Many things happened after 1996.My husband and I moved from Texas to Nashua, New Hampshire. I never lost sight of his teaching. The one that helped me the most_was:"12 Steps For Understanding The Universe Within You". Satori (Enlightenment of One's Self & True Nature)_ means so much to me even today!



It was my source of Strength then and now. My favorite learning statement is: "When the Student is ready the Teachers will appear". And, they did then early in my career and now as I'm Retired_ still making & meeting goals!

Finally, on December 19,2005 after returning to Texas_I treated my husband to an Event he says to this day was AWE-INSPIRING. Dallas Convention Center :



And, I got to listen to his daughter sing. He introduced us_ what a beautiful person as well!

On that same Program, Dr.Dyer introduced me to this wonderful lady...

 Her life transformed dramatically in 1994 during the Rwanda genocide when she and seven other women huddled silently together in a cramped bathroom of a local pastor’s house for 91 days! During this horrific ordeal, Immaculée lost most of her family, but she survived to share the story and her miraculous transition into forgiveness and a profound relationship with God.

So,I think it's fitting that I pay Tribute to a man that changed my life. A couple years ago he suffered a heart attack and bouts with Leukemia.He looks well...prayers!I continue to catch his shows on PBS and read his books ,watch CD's (NOW). If you've never heard of him,read his books or attended his Speaking engagements,Cruises,etc...Don't Delay! It's a treat.I feel very Blessed to have met him.
 
Some of his Thoughts to ponder: 
"My beliefs are that the truth is a truth until you organize it, and then becomes a lie. I don't think that Jesus was teaching Christianity, Jesus was teaching kindness, love, concern, and peace. What I tell people is don't be Christian, be Christ-like. Don't be Buddhist, be Buddha-like.". "Religion is orthodoxy, rules and historical scriptures maintained by people over long periods of time. Generally people are raised to obey the customs and practices of that religion without question. These are customs and expectations from outside the person and do not fit my definition of spiritual."

I find the challenge....Challenging at the least! I thought about it because sometimes I do ponder...what to write, what to write?? But since this is DAY 3 and I've not done so_I decided to combine the first three days of her List into Today's Blog!

Philosophy, Biographies, Anything Jane Austen,Edith Wharton (My Favorite Author)_or Agatha Christie, Travel & Intrigue, Historical, Cookbooks, Zen/Buddhism & 18th & 19th Century(anything),Maps,etc..

I have a great interest in many things_ my motto_:"Is to learn something "new" everyday"! Love living on our "Hill-Top Farm".Enjoy planning & preparing Dinner/Birthday Parties featuring International Cuisine, Wine & Music. I've traveled to many places as a former Medical/Hospital Sales Rep.,especially enjoy train travel_did a cross country Amtrak Trip to California for a "Wine Country Tour" last Fall, can't wait to travel on the "The Orient Express"in Europe! Owner of "Let's Talk Tea" c.1995 (a Tea Lecture & Tea Accoutrement business). I consider myself to be a "Spiritual Being having a Human experience".

Something I know about.....
There are many things that I know something about. At the top of the List_ I'd have to say Books! I have been "addicted to books" since childhood.I always make a Reading List for each season....including different genres of Books that I might not read often_ now that's a challenge sometimes! 

Reading books is a result of my parents, Grandmother  & Uncle instilling in me the value of an Education. My Grandmother lived next door to Mary Allen College_ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Allen_Seminary . I loved the Library on campus! The best way to learn about all sorts of things in the World was to read, read, read! Indeed, that's what I did then and now. I credit my ability to be good at the TV Show_ "JEOPARDY"_ because I read just about every subject matter...well except "trashy stuff". Been a Fan of that Show since childhood!

Day 3
Things that make me uncomfortable....

For the most part, I'm pretty comfortable in my skin!! Very few things get under my skin. But, I guess a pet-peeve of mine_ is people who "judge others all the time"...what they wear, how they speak, what faith, what RACE,what GENDER(who cares),where they live, what they drive, etc.. I feel very uncomfortable around this type of person. If I'm in a social environment,I immediately make an excuse of some kind and remove myself from such toxicity. I do not surround myself with these types of people. I enjoy conversations of substance.I've come to believe Maya Angelou saying_

“I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

   
So, there's  my take on the Blogging Challenge. I'm not an everyday Blogger but I admire the creative ideas that Jenni suggest. I started my Blog because I wanted an outlet for my busy creative brain cells....sit back ,relax and enjoy my thoughts on all sorts of subject matter! Thanks,for checking out my Blog!

Now for that moment_ To Zen or Zinfandel_ that is the question?
