Yes, that is correct! I said Happy Friday 13th,
Scary Cats.
The fear of Friday the 13th has been called friggatriskaidekaphobia (Frigga being the name of the Norse goddess for whom "Friday" is named in English and triskaidekaphobia meaning fear of the number thirteen), orparaskevidekatriaphobia a concatenation of the Greek words Paraskeví (Παρασκευή, meaning "Friday"), and dekatreís (δεκατρείς, meaning "thirteen") attached to phobía (φοβία, from phóbos, φόβος, meaning "fear"). The latter word was derived in 1911 and first appeared in a mainstream source in 1953.

Note:Texans are NOT allowed to pronounce these words!!!  (smiles)

Okay, so that's a mouth full of jibberry-jab! Bottomline, it is YOUR right to believe in one of the most ridiculous Superstitions to date. I challenged you to a ~SPELLING BEE~ on
either form of the word mentioned above! And, Your reasons to perpetuate this Myth!

Now, there's not a lot of Fridays that fall on the 13th....but when they do_here's the Rules...

The History of the aversion to the number 13 goes way, way back to ancient times.Get this,it is
an "accepted form of superstition"in both Western & Eastern Cultures. Some say
Friday's bad reputation goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden. It was on a Friday, supposedly, that Eve tempted Adam with the forbidden fruit....right?
In Pagan Rome, Friday was execution day (later Hangman's Day in Britain), but in other pre-Christian cultures it was the Sabbath. On the other hand, one of the earliest concrete taboos associated with the number 13_a taboo still observed by some superstitious folks today, apparently_ is said to have originated in the East with the Hindus, who believed that it is always unlucky for 13 people to gather in one place,at dinner perhaps...
LEGEND HAS IT: If 13 people sit down to dinner together, one will die within the year!
Dang! Then there's the Viking, Chinese, Ancient Egyptians, The Folklorists say there is no written evidence for a "Friday the 13th" Superstition before the 19th century.Spanish-speaking countries chose TUESDAY instead of Friday as
a bad luck day!

According to the Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute in Asheville,N.C., an estimated 17 to 21 million people in the United States are affected by a fear of this day making it the most feared day and date in history. Some people are so paralyzed by fear that they avoid their normal routines in doing business, taking flights or even getting out of bed. "It's been estimated that 800 or $900 million is lost in business on this day".

That being the case, we are guilty of perpetuating a misnomer by labeling Friday the 13th "the unluckiest day of all," NOT!

Better get my Lottery Ticket,I'm feelin'LUCKY!

~ Don't Eat or Drink Toooo Much Turkey"~

Hi Y'all !From_Aaron's Hilltop Farm, North Central Texas!
In East Texas, Folks always said around this time of the year..."Don't Eat or Drink to much Turkey"! Being a kid, I never knew exactly what that meant but it was sure catchy! Fast-forward to Adulthood....now I know. I can buy into the Eat part tradition....

Eat now...pay later! But,I've come to disagree with that 'stuff yourself" mentality during the "Open Eating Season"_November through January!

And,I have Never,Ever bought into this "Drink Turkey" Thingies...

VS....Eat Turkey...
~ Turkey Dudes on the hunt for Dudettes ~

I have come to the conclusion that "A
Being Thankful Binge" suits me to a "T".

No longer can I hum the tune...
Over the hill and through the woods
To Grandmother’s house we go.

The new song...."Over the freeway & through the TRAFFIC, I'll go to my Sister's Home this year for the Thanksgiving Feast"! I have already informed her that I will NOT be overindulging in buttery, sugary, saturated-y fatty, etc..."stuff" & no yesteryear's of "Second Helpings".This has been my new "Mantra" since the Summer....& it works!

Eat small amounts of the foods you love, Pace yourself, slow down & Drink plenty of water!!!

Here's hoping "YOU" count "YOUR BLESSINGS",enjoy your Family, Don't eat or drink too much Turkey, & have some fun on the first feasting of the...

XOXO, The Sage Book Whisperer.
